Kirjottu verenpisarataulu / Embroidered fuchsia

Mummon huoneessa on nyt pieni kirjomani taulu, jonka sain viimein tehtyä valmiiksi. Tämä on Artecy Cross Stitchin malli Fuschia Bookmark. Pistelin sen petit point -pistoilla 40 count silk gauze -kankaalle. Ilman kehystä työn mitat ovat 2,2 x 6,3 senttiä.
  
On the wall of grandma's room hangs now a miniature embroidery that I finally finished. It's called Fuschia Bookmark and it's by Artecy Cross Stitch. I used petit point (tent stitch) on 40 count silk gauze. The measurements without the frame are 2,2 x 6,3 cm.

Virkattu päiväpeitto / Crochet bedspread

Tämän peiton tekemisessä meni kauan. Malli on ihan oikean kokoiseen päiväpeittoon, jonka tietysti vain tein hyvin pienellä koukulla ja Venne Colcoton -langalla. Mallin nimi on "wedding ring".

It took a long time to make this bedspread. The pattern is actually for a life-sized bedspread. I just used a small hook and Venne Colcoton thread. The pattern is called "wedding ring".

Kuten ehkä huomaatte, peitto on hieman leveämpi ylhäältä. Se johtuu siitä, että ylärivin kahdesta keskimmäisestä neliöstä tuli isompia kuin muista. Päätin, ettei se haittaa, koska siihen alle tulee tyynyn paikka. Nyt peitto on näytillä siellä Sokoksen näyteikkunassa. Kiinnittelin viimeisiä hapsuja vielä samana päivänä, kun roombox piti mennä sisustamaan.

As you may notice, the piece is a little wider at the top. It's because the two center squares in the top row are slightly larger than the others. I decided that it didn't matter because there will be a pillow underneath those squares. At the moment the bedspread is in the show window. I actually attached the final fringes in the same day that I had to go and decorate my roombox.

 

Mummon huone näyttelyssä - Grandma's room on display

Mummon huone on valmis, ja eilen kävin sisustamassa sen Sokoksen näyteikkunassa. Nukkekotinäyttely kestää siis Jyväskylän Sokoksen näyteikkunassa kolme viikkoa. Tässäkin meni taas aika tiukille. Liimasin vielä mummon tossunpohjat, tein peittoon viimeiset hapsut, laitoin mummolle hiukset, tein paidan ja laitoin kuvat tauluihin eilen ennen kaupungille lähtöä.

Grandma's room is ready. Yesterday I decorated it in the show window where it will stay for the next three weeks. Time was almost running out on me. Yesterday, before I went to decorate the box I still finished fringing the bedspread, glues soles for the slippers, wigged the doll, made the shirt for her and printed the two pictures on the back wall.

Tarkoitus oli vielä tehdä itse kattolamppu, puoliksi valmis kirjomus kirjontakehykseen ja kukka-amppeli ikkunaan, mutta aika ei niihin riittänyt.

I meant to make also my own ceiling lamp, a half-finished embroidery on an embroidery frame and a hanging plant in front of the window, but I didn't have enough time fort those.

Mummon sänky / Grandma's bed

Mummon sänky on vihdoin valmis. Aloitin sen jo aikoja sitten, mutta vasta eilen tuli valmista. Tämänkin perusrunko on tehty Freida Greyn kirjan ohjeen mukaan.

Grandma's bed is finally finished. I started this a long time ago, but only yesterday I made the final touches. The basic frame of the bed is made according to a pattern in the Freida Grey book.

Pallot sängyntolppien päissä on tehty Fimosta. Nuo metallikoristeet olen ostanut Doloresista.

The balls on the bedposts are made from Fimo. The metal ornaments I bought from a Finnish dolls' house shop.

Vielä on mummon huone -roomboxissa paljon tehtävää, ja aikaa on jäljellä 8 päivää ennen näyteikkunan pystytystä. Iik!

There's still lots to be done until the grandma's room roombox is finished and I have 8 days until I have to take it to the show window. Eek!

Mummon huone - Grandma's room

Sain jo luvan kirjoittaa kerhomme projektista blogiini, joten nyt voin kertoa, että teen mummon huone roomboxia Sokoksen näyteikkunaan Jyväskylän asuntomessujen ajaksi. Se tulee yhdeksi huoneeksi kymmenen huoneen kerrostaloon. Näyteikkunaan tulee nukkekotikerholtamme tuon kerrostalon lisäksi yksittäisiä taloja. Omani on niin kesken, etten voinut sitä ilmoittaa sinne.

I got a permission to write here about this, so I can tell you that I'm making a grandma's room roombox for a shop's display window in our town center. It will be a part of a ten room apartment building. Some of our club's other members will bring their doll's houses as well. Mine is not even nearly done, so I can't put it in there.

Tässä kuva hyvin keskeneräisestä boksista. Sänky pitää vielä maalata, tehdä ikkuna, kattolamppu ja kirjomus tuohon kehykseen sekä vielä paljon muuta. Kuukausi vielä aikaa.

This is a picture of the very much unfinished roombox. I still need to paint the bed, make the window, ceiling lamp and an embroidery piece for the floor frame among many other things. I have one month to do everything.

Huhtikuun synttäriswappi - April birthday swap

Synttärisankari Kirsi avasi pakettinsa jo jokin aika sitten, mutta vasta nyt muistin laittaa kuvan lähettämästäni paketista. Pussissa olevat tavarat ovat kauhoja ja muita keittiövälineitä.

The birthday girl Kirsi already opened her presents a little while ago, but I only now remembered to post a picture of my present. The items in the plastic are ladles and other kitchen utensils.

Kirjoja ja vodkaa - Books and vodka

Adlibriksessa oli Maria Malmströmin Nukkekoti Väinölän vuosi puoleen hintaan, joten tilasin sen ja samalla pari muutakin nukkiskirjaa.

Maria Malmström's  Nukkekoti Väinölän vuosi was at a half price on an online bookstore, so I bought it and two other miniature books.
